The Department of Library and Information Science, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, commences its Certificate in Teacher Librarianship (CTL) in the coming academic year on July 15th, 2024. The programme will be a 6-month course. This would include lectures, practical sessions, tutorials, project work, and internships. For practicals/project work & internships, students must identify the reputed nearby libraries or schools that are registered as an institute & get consent from the DLIS department SVU.
The course aims to immerse a student in a rich learning environment to build a strong foundation in developing professional skills. The course structure includes a variety of interactive sessions such as assignments, discussions, project work, and a final simple exam paper. Designed to update and enhance the skill set of current librarians, this certification course will introduce graduates and educators to the latest practices, preparing them effectively for the modern workplace.
